Brick by Brick

Our Rock Group has been reading and studying the Purpose Driven Church by Rick Warren the last few weeks. I am amazed at how smart this man is and how he is leading so many churches across the world today. After reading part of this book, having read the Purpose Driven Life and now I can't seem to put down anything he has written. What can I apply in his teachings to my life? What am I not doing and what am I doing right? Where can I use my talents and what I am learning to lead people to Christ - to lead in my church and lead my Rock Group? The doors are open.....
I came across Ephesians 2:19-22 today while looking up foundations - because I wanted to know where my family stands. How did we get to this point and why are we not standing on better ground.... I am also thinking about my friends, their families and my church family as well. We all come from different places and from different directions but as these awesome people have come into my life - we have a common foundation to life now. JESUS -
Friends we have a foundation to stand on - we have footing in the sand - together we make up the body of Christ because we all play a part in it together. Just like no church can reach everyone - all churches must work together to get the Good News out and bring people to Jesus. We all make up the bricks that build a strong home - to go against the winds, rain, struggles, pressures, relationships, drug addictions, abuse and anything else this world throws us.

Ephesians 2:19-22
19-22That's plain enough, isn't it? You're no longer wandering exiles. This kingdom of faith is now your home country. You're no longer strangers or outsiders. You belong here, with as much right to the name Christian as anyone. God is building a home. He's using us all—irrespective of how we got here—in what he is building. He used the apostles and prophets for the foundation. Now he's using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together. We see it taking shape day after day—a holy temple built by God, all of us built into it, a temple in which God is quite at home.

Father I pray tonight for those we know who are sinking and who don't have a strong foundation in their lives. Lord struggles and hard ships might have many of us down but You give us the strong footing we need to endure and raise above our issues. Lord thank You for laying down this ground work so that we may press through and continue fighting for You, our families and our friends in this life. May You touch those who need Your touch this evening, In Your sons awesome name in Jesus,
Amen
