Investments......

Let me start today with a bible verse - and change things up some shall we?
2 Corinthians 4:18 -
"We do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal."

God wants us to focus on the good things He has for you, which are far greater than the things you can see around you. Unfortunately, too many people give up when they face tough times. They stop expecting anything good to happen. But the truth is, hardships and trials are really opportunities for us to go higher. Lean on God and He will provide the way for us to rise above our struggles. Expect God to deliver when you have given Him control of the details. Don't settle for second best; this is the way it has always been and this is just the way it is. You are selling yourself short to the blessings that God has for you. Everything is subject to change - your finances, marriage, relationships, your job, or no job, food on the table - everything is subject to change.

Since it's the beginning of a new year - many check in with our financial planners and go over this years plans. Like a checkup at the doctors, we evaluate and assess where we are and what we are currently doing. Our investments - great for those who are investing in this life and planning for the future. But God wants us to see the other side as well - our spiritual side. This is the investment that will last. Our earthly material (money) investments can go up in smoke in a moments notice. Can anyone say Enron? God wants us to invest our time, money, resources and talents into Him - things that will last from generation to generation. As I think about my son - I think about the investment my wife and I are making in him. A generational investment because what my wife and I do in this life will be passed along. Our investments of teaching him godly principals, ethics, morals, respect, parenting and loving your mother/father and one day his - wife and children. These investments pass down through the generations. Even though we cannot see and feel many things - we know they are there. We can't see the wind can we? But we know its there - we can't see things we hear - but we know they are there because we can hear them. We cannot see love and trust but we know they are there. We cannot be a complete person without the physical side and the spiritual side. God wants us to invest in both - a complete person. Jesus has invested everything in YOU - He chose you before we are even given the opportunity to chose Him. Invest in the long haul - Invest in both sides of your being so that you can experience the richness and the blessings God has in store for you. Any good financial planner will tell you not to put all your eggs (investments) in one basket. God is a big portion of a balanced investment plan. Diversify friends...... and make the best investment in your life.
